The prices are very reasonable for a restaurant with such high standards. We were a group of six and ordered the set menu, and every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. We had the 5 course degustation menu and, as the non-driver, I had the accompanying wines. After the welcome chef's taster, the 1st course cold crab dish was beautiful in taste and texture. The subsequent duck and pork dishes were generous in serving sizes and perfectly cooked - really delicious. The 4th course lamb was a little salty to my taste but also beautifully cooked to my stated preference. The 'just prepared' temperature of the three hot dishes was impressive and appreciated. The soft meringue dessert with its tart sauce was a great palate cleanser to finish with. All accompanying wines were perfect for the courses. Particularly impressive was the non-rushed service that was both pleasant and well timed to suit the wine service. This meant longer service timeframes - about 15 minutes or so - between courses, allowing for relaxed consumption to take in the lovely setting. In the 8.00 o'clock reservation, it can be expected that other tables are already in full swing, and the larger groups were a bit noisy here. Compared to other venues, thankfully this restaurant has carpet and some curtaining to help reduce that a little. Fine dining can set high expectations, running the risk of being disappointing. That's certainly not the case here. With the terrific food, pleasant service, great wines and lakeside environment we left happily satisfied. The price, given the generous proportions, was fair and well worth it.
